Satish Nagarajaiah, Ph.D., F.SEI, Dist.M.ASCE, professor of civil and mechanical engineering at Rice University, Houston, has been honored with inclusion by ASCE in its 2021 class of Distinguished Members for seminal contributions to seismic isolation, structural control, and structural sensing/monitoring and system identification, and for pioneering the development of nonlinear dynamic analysis techniques for base-isolated structures that led to implementation in numerous structures around the world.
