Joe Grubbs, P.E., F.ASCE, senior professional associate at HDR and a civil engineer with over 30 years’ experience in airfield design, construction, and construction management, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Over his career, Grubbs has developed design experience and expertise in providing technical solutions for a broad range of airfield-related challenges, including conducting pavement evaluation; developing pavement rehabilitation design, designing new concrete, and bituminous pavements; and designing drainage and deicing collection systems and developing construction safety and phasing designs for 24 runways and many associated taxiways and aircraft parking and deicing aprons
